2008 Schedule of Events

All events take place outside on the Student Union Center Lawn or DMZ.

Now until April 24 - Sign-up your organization or group of friends to participate in the Relay for Life walk on April 24 - 25. Sign up by clicking here or by visiting the Community Outreach Center in the SUB (next to PSECU).


MAIN EVENT - THURSDAY, APRIL 24

10:00am - 4:30pm - Shave to Save and Relay for Life begins. Shaving, haircuts, over $1,000 in silent auction prizes, live bands, food, giveaways, climbing rock wall, push-up contest, dunk tank, Spuds mobile food truck, games, and more. Location: SUB Lawn

5pm - 8pm - Shave to Save changes locations to Bearfest 30 on the DMZ . Most of the above activies, plus the Multicultural Center BBQ, pudding slide, strawberry festival, free sundaes, and lots more. Silent Auction winners will be announced at this time. Location: DMZ

8:30pm - Midnight - Shave to Save returns to the Relay for Life on the SUB Lawn. Josee Vachon, wife of President Cavellos, will give her keynote speech, presentation of gifts, candle lighting ceremony, band to perform, and games will continue throughout the night lighted. Location: SUB Lawn

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 25

Midnight - 10am - Relay for Life continues throughout the night with games, bands, coffee, hot chocolate, and more. In the morning, Relay officially ends with breakfast complements of the Relay staff, along with clean-up and dismissal. Location: SUB Lawn

 

ENCORE EVENT - SATURDAY, APRIL 26

11am - 4pm - Shave to Save encore on at Bearfest 30's Community Day. Mens shaving only, t-shirts for sale, carnival rides, KU organization booths, games, food, entertainment, and giveaways. Location: DMZ
