Get Involved!

Do more in your campus and community.

Getting involved within your campus and community are two great things you or your organization can do. It promotes leadership, knowledge, dedication, and can develop relationships that gain respect from others.

There are many opportinuties to get involved with either Shave to Save, or the Relay for Life. Simply by telling a friend about the event creates a huge advertisement. You don't have to cut your hair to help out!

Take a look around this page. View some of the videos, links, and pictures and let them spark ideas that you can do.

Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions.

Why Relay?

The power of Relay is that it allows a community to grieve for those lost to cancer and to celebrate the lives of those who have survived. For the newly diagnosed, Relay offers a chance to meet someone who has survived the same type of cancer. For the cancer patient in treatment, Relay provides an opportunity to share with others. For the long-term survivor, Relay brings a community’s recognition of the struggle and closure to a trying time in life.

Caregivers also find hope in Relay For Life. These individuals give their time, love and support to friends, family, and neighbors who face cancer. At Relay, everyone understands the challenges and joys of being a caregiver. There is peace of mind knowing that together we can face the challenges ahead.

Why Shave to Save?

Shave to Save was developed on the basis of cancer patients losing their hair during treatments. Many times, friends and family members of the patient will willingly shave their head so they will look the same as the patient. Often times, this lets them know that they are not alone.

Shave to Save is more than just symbolism- it is an entire college community pulling together as one to show support for cancer victims. By cutting your hair or donating in other ways, you are standing up for this horrible disease and saying no more.

Whether you're contributing for yourself, family, or a friend, any goodwill that you provide will help with hopes that one day we can eliminate cancer alltogether.
